Canary Speech has joined forces with Microsoft to utilize the tech giant’s AI technology and enhance its machine learning speech models for healthcare applications. The collaboration includes Canary becoming a Microsoft Cloud for Healthcare co-sell partner, utilizing Microsoft Azure, integrating Canary’s API platform into Microsoft Teams, and working together to transform care through AI technology. Canary’s vocal biomarker technology captures and analyzes speech data to identify irregularities such as changes in mood, stress levels, and energy before clinical screenings or noticeable symptoms. The partnership aims to leverage Microsoft’s AI capabilities to advance speech analysis technology, reduce healthcare costs, address mental health challenges, and scale remote patient monitoring solutions.
Microsoft has been actively involved in the healthcare industry with its AI technology. The company acquired Nuance Communications, a provider of AI and speech recognition software, and made substantial investments in OpenAI, the developer of ChatGPT and its successor, GPT-4. Microsoft’s Nuance Communications recently introduced a clinical documentation tool called Dragon Ambient eXperience Express, which utilizes the latest version of OpenAI’s AI language model, GPT-4.
