Canary Speech Earns ISO/IEC 27001:2022 and 42001:2023 Certifications for AI and Information Security

Global achievement affirms Canary Speech’s commitment to data privacy, confidentiality, and secure deployment of its ambient AI technology
Canary Speech has earned ISO/IEC 27001:2022 and ISO/IEC 42001:2023 certifications—two globally recognized standards that reflect the company’s robust approach to managing information security and responsible AI.
These certifications, awarded by Prescient Security, a leader in information assurance and compliance, validate that Canary Speech has implemented rigorous, organization-wide protocols to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data, while also managing the unique risks associated with artificial intelligence. ISO/IEC 27001:2022 focuses on establishing, maintaining, and continually improving an information security management system (ISMS). ISO/IEC 42001:2023 is the world’s first standard specifically developed to govern AI management systems.
“This achievement reinforces Canary Speech’s dedication to building secure, ethical AI that supports real-world health outcomes,” said Henry O’Connell, CEO and Co-founder of Canary Speech. “As we continue to scale the reach of our ambient voice technology across healthcare and other sectors, these certifications give our partners and customers further confidence in our ability to protect sensitive information while delivering real-time insights that can improve lives.”
Canary Speech’s proprietary technology analyzes vocal biomarkers in real time, helping healthcare providers, clinical researchers, and organizations focused on population health and workforce wellbeing detect signs of stress, fatigue, depression, and cognitive impairment in a passive and unobtrusive way. By embedding this technology into everyday environments, the company enables early intervention and continuous monitoring without requiring individuals to change their behavior or adopt new tools.
As artificial intelligence becomes increasingly integrated into our daily lives, the importance of accountability, transparency, and security in AI systems cannot be overstated. Achieving ISO/IEC 27001:2022 and 42001:2023 certifications sets a benchmark for trust, demonstrating that Canary Speech not only meets rigorous international standards for information security and responsible AI management, but is also proactively addressing public concerns about the ethical use of emerging technologies. These certifications signal to healthcare providers, partners, and end users that Canary Speech’s solutions are designed with privacy and fairness at their core. This independent validation helps build and maintain confidence that technology is being developed and deployed with the highest regard for safety, ethics, and societal wellbeing.
The ISO certifications are valid for three years and will be maintained through annual surveillance audits. Canary Speech’s team completed the certification process in close collaboration with Prescient Security.
